Who can participate in UME assessments?
UME assessments are open to musicians of all ages and experience levels, from beginners through to advanced students. We welcome students and teachers from around the world.
What do the levels mean?
Preliminary through to Grade 6 represent recognised stages of musical development and achievement.
UME welcomes repertoire from a wide range of sources and examination systems, with grade levels aligned to broadly recognised international standards.
When and where are assessments available?
Video Performance Submission
Available year-round from anywhere in the world.
Live Performance Assessments
Offered throughout the year at selected venues in Australia, with additional locations planned in the future.
What if I need to make changes after booking?
We understand that schedules change.
Assessments may be rescheduled up to 200 days into the future at no additional cost. Cancellation options are also available, with details provided in your booking confirmation email.
Our flexible system is designed to give students and teachers greater control over when, where and how they complete their assessment.

UME assessors are experienced music professionals with extensive backgrounds in teaching, performance and assessment.
